The Process

Strategy

Designing a brand for my own freelance venture required stepping back and approaching the project as if I were working for a client. I began by defining a clear brand strategy and identifying the target audience I wanted to reach. The focus was on positioning Pixel Brand as a creative partner for startups and growing businesses.

Research

To better understand the startup ecosystem, I followed several entrepreneurship courses at Syntra and Starterslabo. These environments provided direct access to founders and early-stage businesses while also helping me deepen my knowledge about building and running a company.

Design

With the strategic direction defined, I developed a visual identity that reflected both my personality as a designer and the type of clients I wanted to attract. The goal was to communicate creativity, adaptability and technical skill through the brand’s visual language.

AI Exploration

During the project I also began experimenting with early AI image generation tools, using Pixel Brand’s identity as a testing ground to explore how emerging technologies could be integrated into creative workflows.

THE OUTCOME

Key Learnings

  • Building your own business doesn't happen over night. It's a process of constant failure vs success, but the most important is, don't give up!
  • We can come across roadblocks and unexpected events in our lives that change your entire world; sometimes other things in life take priority over your business.
  • In every set back there is lesson to be learned. It's one of the best ways to grow as a person.

Results

  • I had the opportunity to develop a liking for entrepreneurship and I did maintain my business for roughly 4 years during one of the hardest times for businesses (Covid).
  • Pixel Brand became a legacy brand when I  closed my business at the start of 2024 for personal reasons.
  • After the closing in 2024 - I rebranded myself and made Brand Technica which acts as my portfolio, service & hire platform and R&D lab.
Feedback

Clients often came in looking for design, but quickly realized that clarifying their brand direction first made the final result stronger. The strategic conversations around positioning and identity were frequently just as valuable as the visual work itself.

Working closely with clients also created a collaborative process where ideas could evolve naturally, resulting in brands that felt more intentional and aligned with their goals.
