Designing for yourself is a big challenge, the first thing I did is take a step back and look at it as though it's a client's project. As I always do, I started setting up a brand strategy and figure out who my target audience was. Once I had a good idea of what I wanted to go for I started executing the plan.

• ‍Research: I went straight for the places where startups thrive and followed some business startup courses at both Syntra and Starterslabo. I had access to my target audience while also learning more about running my own business.
• Strategy: Started to develop a Brand Strategy that targets (Belgian) startups and scale-ups.
• ‍Design: I mostly looked at creating an identity that would show my audience who I am and what I'm capable off.
• AI: I wasn't afraid to jump rather quickly on the AI train and used Pixel Brand's branding to also experiment with AI image generation.

• Building your own business doesn't happen over night. It's a process of constant failure vs success, but the most important is, don't give up!
• We can come across roadblocks and unexpected events in our lives that change your entire world; sometimes other things in life take priority over your business.
• Fear doesn't make you less confident, it's how you deal with your fears that will.
• In every set back there is lesson to be learned and is one of the best ways to grow as a person.

• I had the opportunity to develop a liking for entrepreneurship and I did maintain my business for roughly 4 years during one of the hardest times for businesses (Corona).
• Pixel Brand is currently a project that's on hold. I closed my business at the start of 2024 for financial reasons and personal reasons.
